I am a visual thinker and have found traditional western music theory terminology and methodology difficult to understand. In order to study and understand harmonic relationships directly, I've developed a simple system of logical symbols and rules that visually describe harmonic relationships with connected transformations of the circle of fifths.

Every possible harmonic relationship based on the 12EDO tuning system can be described with this system; each harmonic relationship / chord has a corresponding symbol that both describes the component intervals of the chord and provides a unique visual identity for it. The system is “space-focused” and primarily driven by interval relationships, which allows for the study of harmony at a level more general than what is possible with traditional methods focused on key-centers and individual notes. For example, in this system, all root-position major triads have the same symbol.
